Blossom End Rot most often appears as a round and brown shrunken area on the end of the fruit opposite that of the stem. As the fruit ripens, this area will turn dry and even leathery. The disorder often appears after a period of rapid growth followed by dry conditions. It may also appear after periods of heavy rain.
